Sketchy update o' doom

Finally! It feels nice to get some more current work up. These are just from my sketch book...lots of backgrounds/landscapes to make me happy, and some people thrown in just for kicks :)

Time to finally update with some new stuff...it's been an insane ammount of time. But here's some of what I've been doing with more to follow soon, I hope :)

Moose texture for a project with Kelly Loosli. This was painted in Photoshop using hi-res photos I took at the Bean museum, and then applied in Cinema 4-D. Now the trick is to get it back into Soft Image.

Ah, the knot charm. Despite its simple appearances, this little thing was quite a beast. WIth a little bizzare-ly appropriate warping in the uv's though, it turned out all right. This texture was created with procedural shading and bump for the knots and wood grain/varnish, and painted textures with a hi-res scan for the chords and lettering.

This was for a fun thing online called the Harry Potter Fan Art project. I don't usually do much in the fan art genre, but this one kind of caught my attention. This was a pretty quick painting done in Photoshop using a watercolor-ish brush. Kinda fun.

Pajama Gladiator DVD covers

So, here are the covers I've just finished for Pajama Gladiator's DVD case. I'm really excited about the way they turned out. It was really fun to experiment with making things look like an old comic. Now all that's left is the spine, and we'll be good to go. Which is good because Kites is gonna be right on PJG's heels.

Scera Theater and such

So I've been hired on by Holdman Studios to design stained glass art pieces...Lots of fun, and something new. So these are designs for the Scera Theater in Provo...they're transitioning from a film and play theater to just a playhouse and wanted these art instillations to make it look more art deco and fancy. So the colored ones are my original ideas, and then the sketch is an alternate suggestion for incorporating the legend of Timpanogos, a local myth, that we're also playing around with. So we'll see what happens...so far it's been really fun!

Pajama Gladiator DVD Menus

These are images I've been working on for the DVD menus for Pajama Gladiator. It's nice to see the project finally getting ready to go out to festivals and stuff...and this Eric Carle style that the director had decided on was really fun to experiment with.

But wait, there's more...

Well, at least they're going fast right? I'm on a roll, with hopefully one more shot to get well under way today...maybe two, you never know.

So this was my last final ever, unless I go to grad school at some point in time. I think I'll keep developing the idea, 'cause I'm sure having a lot of fun with it.

This lab is not supposed to be this dark, I have no idea what happened to my file, but I'll upload the better version later tonight.

I'm three days away from graduating, and boy am I ready to be done with finals.

Painter Paintings :)

So these were for my Corel Painter class...I love digital work for the crazy variety you can get. Really fun stuff. This semster I was focusing on environmental design, particularly in creating really distinct or stylized pieces.
